Asthi Visarjanam
Sacred immersion of ashes in the holy waters of Dhanushkodi — performed with traditional poojas for the departed soul's peaceful journey.
What Is Asthi Visarjanam?
Asthi Visarjanam is the sacred immersion of a departed person's ashes (asthi) in holy water. Dhanushkodi — at the confluence of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean near Rameswaram — is one of the most sacred places in India for this final rite. Our Pandits perform the complete puja before and during the immersion.
We are the Pandits who perform this ritual ourselves, at Dhanushkodi. We take your family's sankalp, recite the departed person's name and gotra, and complete the ritual with full Vedic procedure. If you cannot be present, you can send the ashes and we handle everything personally. Photos are sent after completion.
